National School Library Week 2024. First sponsored in 1958, national library week is a national observance sponsored by the american library association (ala) and libraries across the country each april. Like so many milestones, when the librarian hands a child their first library card, it becomes a lifelong stake in the ground.

Mine was in our civic park. School librarians do so much for students and staff every day.
